At Nomadtable, we are committed to fostering a safe and enjoyable environment for solo travelers to connect and create meaningful experiences. Following these safety tips and event etiquette guidelines will ensure a positive experience for everyone.1. Before Participating in a Plan
Inform Someone You Trust: Share your plans with a friend or family member, including the plan details, location, and your expected return time.
Keep Communications on Nomadtable: Use the in-app chat for all plan-related communication. This helps ensure your privacy and provides a monitored space for interactions.
Plan Your Transportation: Arrange reliable transportation to and from the location. Having control over your travel ensures you can leave safely at any time.
Review AI Suggestions: AI-generated plans and locations are for inspiration and may not always reflect real-time conditions. Double-check venue details and suitability before committing.
Understand Local Norms: Familiarize yourself with local customs, tipping practices, and cultural expectations for a seamless experience.
2. During the Plan Activity
Personal Safety
Stay Aware: Keep your belongings and drinks in sight at all times. Be mindful of alcohol consumption to remain alert.
Trust Your Instincts: If something feels off or makes you uncomfortable, excuse yourself and leave. Your safety is the top priority.
Seek Help If Needed: If you feel unsafe, inform venue staff, local authorities, or a trusted contact.
Etiquette and Conduct
Respect Others: Engage in inclusive and respectful conversations. Avoid sensitive topics unless everyone is comfortable.
Embrace Diversity: Appreciate different perspectives and backgrounds. Nomadtable is a global community designed to connect travelers from all walks of life.
Splitting the Bill: Be prepared to handle your share of expenses for plans involving payments. Use digital payment apps or cash for smooth transactions.
Tipping: Follow local tipping practices where applicable.
3. After the Plan Activity
Continued Interaction
Stay Connected Safely: Use the Nomadtable app to continue conversations. Share personal details only with people you trust.
Report Concerns: If you encounter inappropriate or unsafe behavior, report it through the app. Reports are confidential and help ensure the safety of the community.
Transportation Safety
Avoid Impaired Driving: Arrange alternative transportation if you’ve consumed alcohol or substances.
Be Cautious with Rides: Avoid accepting rides from anyone under the influence or unfamiliar to you.
4. Blocking and Reporting Users
Block for Safety: Use the blocking feature to prevent unwanted contact. Once blocked, the user will no longer be able to view your profile or contact you.
Report Serious Concerns: Blocking does not automatically report behavior. If the individual violates community guidelines, please submit a report through the app.
Respectful Use: Misuse of the blocking feature to disrupt others’ experience is prohibited.
5. Tips for Participating in Plans
Arrive on Time: Respect others’ time by arriving promptly.
Communicate Dietary Needs: Notify the plan creator or venue staff about dietary restrictions or allergies at the start of the activity.
Be Present: Stay engaged and attentive during conversations to foster genuine connections.
6. Emergency Situations
Reach Out for Help: In case of an emergency, contact local emergency services. Familiarize yourself with the emergency contact numbers for your area ahead of time.
Report Incidents: Inform Nomadtable immediately of any suspicious or harmful behavior through the app’s reporting system.
7. AI Suggestions and Venue Information
AI-Generated Plans: Nomadtable may suggest locations or activities using AI. These suggestions are for guidance only and may not always reflect real-time data or availability.
Users should verify information before attending.
Exercise Judgment: Always use caution when attending AI-suggested venues or meeting new people.
